Sagar Vaishno Dhaba, Ambala City

Sagar Vaishno Dhaba, Ambala City
(A Pure Veg Dhaba/Restaurant)

Sagar Vaishno Dhaba was started in 1999 by Prakash Dua Ji and his elder brother. There is interesting story behind the starting up of this Dhaba i.e. Prakash Ji found that there was no place to have hygienic and clean vegetarian food in Ambala which gave him idea to start-up his own Dhaba with the help of his brother. The shop is now run by second generation, even though Prakash Ji and his brother still visit the shop daily to assist and keep a check. All the ingredients are procured on daily basis from the market and all the species are prepared at home.

Sagar Vaishno Dhaba is situated in Bansa Wala Bazar, Near Suhag Hotel serving Pure Vegetarian Food from the last 21 Years. Recently after the renovation work done, more space is now available and especially for family. Now the Dhaba has turned into a Restaurant.

(A Glimpse of A.C. Seating Hall after Renovation)

When I asked Sh. Prakash Ji that from where did you go the name for your Dhaba, He smiled and said ” We have kept the name of our Dhaba, on the name of one of our Worker”.

About the food: – Sagar Vaishno Dhaba is serving one of the best foods in city. The quality and quantity are perfectly balanced. From Breakfast to Dinner, they have wide variety of items to be tasted and tried. Well, I tried the following dishes: –

1) Paneer Do Pyaza – One of my favorite dish from their menu. Freshly chopped onions and capsicum with Paneer chunks and creamy gravy make it a perfect dish.

2) Dal Sandhu – Dal Sandhu can be called as sister of Dal Makhni. But the taste of Dal Sandhu is more amazing than the taste of Dal Makhni.

3) Chana Masala – Generally I don’t eat Chana Masala in my meal, but they serve one of the best Chana Masala garnished with fresh Paneer and ginger julienne.

4) Jeera Rice – Perfectly cooked basmati rice with cumin seeds is one of the top selling items at Sagar Vaishno Dhaba with Dal Makhni/Dal Sandhu combination.

5) Breads –A wide variety of breads is available at Sagar Vaishno Dhaba i.e. Tandoori Roti, Laccha Paratha, Missi Roti and Butter Naan. My personal favorite is Butter Naan and Laccha Paratha. Don’t forget to try their Aloo Pyaaz Naan with Dal Makhni.

(A Youtube Video showcasing my experience and story of Dhaba is available on my Channel)

Overall, it was a great experience trying their menu. In case if you are looking for pure vegetarian food with homely flavors Sagar Vaishno Dhaba is a perfect destination and solution to your hunt.
